MULTIPLE ZIRCONIA RESTORATION OPTIONS AVAILABLE THROUGH CUSP DENTAL
MALDEN, Mass (September 1, 2008) - Cusp Dental Laboratory, a Boston-based dental laboratory offering the latest precision technology and esthetic procedures for crown and bridge restoration, today released an update on its full-line of capabilities for Zirconia restoration options including: Noritake Katana, 3M Lava, and Procera ZR.
"In the past three years, we’ve seen the new technology behind Zirconia crowns grow in popularity with our dental clients, not only for strength, but for esthetics," said Kimiyo Sawyer, president of Cusp Dental Laboratory. "This is true even for the anterior region."
New esthetics are possible because some of the Zirconia blocks are colored. For example, Noritake Katana coping features 9 solid color shades with 0.4mm thickness. Lava recently introduced a 0.3mm thickness with 8 dipping color shades. The result is that Zirconia is moving away from its opaque shades for anterior restorations.
Cusp has provided Procera ZR crown since 2002, Lava since 2004 and Katana since 2006. In total, the laboratory has made over five thousand Zirconia crowns with Noritake CZR overlay materials to date.
"At Cusp, more than fifty percent of our anterior restorations are all ceramic," said Sawyer. "Zirconia technology has given us the confidence to make this happen."
Cusp has doubled its ceramic restoration business in the past three years.
"The bottom line is that more dentists are choosing Zirconia restorations and Cusp has the breadth of technology to provide them," Sawyer said.
